New General Manager at Millennium Hotel ChristchurchWe are thrilled to announce the transfer of Karen Wootton from Copthorne Hotel Christchurch Durham Street to the position of General Manager, Millennium Hotel Christchurch. In the last 10 years Karen has lead a very successful transformation of the Copthorne Hotel Christchurch Durham Street and her passion, commitment and strong business acumen will be invaluable to the Millennium Hotel Christchurch. Glen Cook, currently Hotel Manager at Millennium Hotel Christchurch will transfer to Copthorne Hotel Christchurch Durham Street as Executive Manager to replace Karen. Glen began his career with Millennium Hotels and Resorts as a Corporate Trainee and has previously held management positions in the Bay of Islands and Auckland. These transfers take place from Monday 11 September. |

Our first hotel in ChinaThis month saw us unveil our first hotel in China, Shanghai on 28 August 2006. This is a management contract signed with the China owner, the Shanghai Workers Union, which also owns hotels, villas and spas amongst other investments in China. Millennium Hongqiao Hotel Shanghai is a 5-star international hotel located along Yan An Xi Road and in the heart of the city’s commercial and residential district in Hongqiao. It is within close proximity to convention and exhibition venues, plush residential community, the Carrefour Supermarket and the exciting entertainment area. With its central location, the hotel is a mere 10 minutes drive away from the city’s domestic Hongqiao Airport and 40 minutes drive from the Pudong International Airport.
All guestrooms and suites are spacious with contemporary design and tastefully furnished, complete with long bath and separate shower, electronic safe, flat screen LCD colour television, broadband Internet access, electronic key card access, mini bar, coffee and tea making facilities.
