$10 Million makeover for Kingsgate Oriental Bay
The refurbishment involves a complete exterior and interior redesign with the façade, entrance and lobby, guest rooms, restaurant, public areas and conference facilities all being completely renovated to transform the property into the Copthorne Hotel Wellington Oriental Bay. The refit is taking place in stages which means the Hotel will remain open throughout the refurbishment. As of mid December it will operate as a limited service Copthorne Hotel with full services available to guests early February. A complete re-opening is scheduled for the end of February 2007. Hotel general manager Brad Watts says the renovation has been designed to capitalise on the Hotel's stunning location on top of one of the world's most spectacular harbours.
